CityTech

City Tech transforms cities into testbeds for new ideas. With partners and people, they remake essential services and infrastructure, from skills to skyscrapers. They then prepare these solutions for other cities, thus increasing the world’s odds of solving big, urban problems. They are currently easing subway congestion during large events; creating a digital map of Chicago’s underground; and launching a digital directory of public health services in Chicago.

Global Smart City Test Bed project

For the IoT-based Smart City Project, which is organized by Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning and centers around Haeundae Centum City, Busan Metropolitan Government and SK Telecom created a consortium to carry out the project for three years from 2015 to 2017. The project will provide an open platform through which all data created from sensors within the smart city can be collected and shared. The purpose of the project is to respond to various urban problems (environment, energy saving, traffic) by using the latest ICT and environmentally-friendly technologies.

Smart Waste Management System - Ubiwhere

With Smart Waste Management System, it is simpler to manage the urban waste collection in cities. Through the placement of sensors with low energy consumption and high durability in the traditional trash bins, it is possible to keep tight control on the state of the container, its location and security, thus increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the waste management teams.
Urban waste can be seen as a resource for the whole processing chain. Encourage recycling, generate rates based on each citizen’s contribution and make your city greener.

Smart Lamppost - Ubiwhere

A future-proof solution that is changing the ways cities evolve, in a flexible and cost-effective way, tackling current e-mobility and communication needs. The Smartlamppost follows a simple modular approach, with scalability in mind. It is easy to mix-and-match different modules in an elegant and clean solution.
Because of its modularity and flexibility, Smartlamppost targets both municipalities and different businesses operating in different markets.

Smart Traffic - Ubiwhere

The Smart Traffic solution solves the problem of traffic management in urban environments in an intelligent and adaptive way. Consisting of the installation of low-cost sensors throughout the city streets and intersections, a continuous traffic monitoring with wireless communications is provided, enabling prompt and efficient traffic control to management systems and authorities.

Urban Platform - Ubiwhere

The Urban Platform provides municipalities with a global and integrated view of their cities, presenting data from various domains, such as traffic, air quality and waste collection. This information, presented in a single control panel, allows municipalities to obtain the data needed to make informed and targeted management.
In this way, they can ensure that the decisions taken are well-founded and provide empirical reports on their impact.

Action Program Smart Mobility - Amsterdam

The goals of  the action of Smart Mobility of Amsterdam is improving the safety, accessibility, quality of life and attractiveness of the city. Goals for the action program specifically:

1. Get insights in (technological) developments and innovations in the field of mobility and its impact on the city.

2. Anticipate on technological innovations and use these to reach the goals.

3. Stimulate and accelerate innovation in the city.

4. Strengthen cooperation with knowledge institutions and market parties.
