VanMap is a Web-based application that lets you view data about Vancouver in map form. The City's GIS (Geographical Information Systems) department gathers information and data from a variety of sources, and constructs detailed map layers for you to view, save, and print out. VanMap is a large part of the City's overall open map strategy, along with Google maps for day-to-day user views.
VanConnect is an app for your smartphone that: Allows you to view and access information about various City programs and services. Increases online engagement, giving you the ability to submit a service request for issues you spot around the city from abandoned garbage and graffiti removal, to pothole and street light repairs.

This intelligent electricity network (Smart Grid) contains additional computers and sensors placed in the grid. As such current and voltage are monitored continuously to provide more accurate monitoring and control functions. In the past these functions weren’t available at this level.
The project is based on four separate parts: the first being the construction of Hikari, a block of energy positive housing and office buildings. Secondly, there will be a deployment of a shared group of electric vehicles to be fueled primarily by energy produced from photovoltaic panels installed on the tops of certain buildings. Thirdly, the distribution of ConsoTab, a tablet allowing for the viewing of residential energy consumption, and finally the implementation of this monitoring tool which tracks energy production and consumption for the entire La Confluence neighborhood.
