Spiga Smart Street

The pilot project, in anticipation of Expo 2015, has the intention of making the City of Milan decidedly smarter through elements like a brand new LED lighting system and free ultrafast Wi-Fi. The energy saving lighting system will give the street a completely new look – and name – Spiga Smart Street.  Other innovative services for both citizens and visitors include a multimedia touch screen dedicated to communication and travel information, sustainable mobility with stations for charging electric cars and bikes as well as SOS and video surveillance system for security.

Loop City - Danish developement collaboration

Loop City is a collaboration between 10 municipalities, the Capital Region and the Danish State on urban and business development along the Ring 3 light rail. The collaboration partners are the Capital Region, Ministry of Transport, Danish Business Authority, and 10 municipalities. Loop City is a unique Danish example of collaborative, strategic urban management. Its goal is to realise the significant opportunities for urban and business development that the new Ring 3 infrastructure paves the way for.

Barcelona-Catalonia - Economy boost project

Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions

AMS aims to become an internationally leading institute where talent is educated and engineers, designers, digital engineers and natural/social scientist jointly develop and valorise interdisciplinary metropolitan solutions. AMS is centred on applied technology in urban themes such as water, energy, waste, food, data and mobility, and the integration of these themes. AMS will develop a deep understanding of the city – sense the city -, design solutions for its challenges, and integrate these into the city. In that, Amsterdam is its home base and test bed.

InnDEA Valencia

The Valencia InnDEA Foundation is a body promoted by the Valencia Town Council with the aim of supporting and encouraging development in the city by innovation in its various forms. InnDEA Valencia acts on the business system, in which it favours innovation in the productive sectors of the city of Valencia; on local administration, promoting urban innovation applications to modernise municipal services and give citizens a faster and more efficient response; and on the city, making it both habitable and sustainable and at the same time an international point of reference.

Code For Europe

Code for Europe aims to use technology and open data to make cities more efficient and sustainable. They strive to solve local civic challenges, by enabling agile temporary teams of developers to create solutions that are easily reuseable in other European cities.

Smart Kalasatama

Kalasatama Smart City district of Helsinki is an experimental innovation platform to co-create smart urban infrastructure and services. This centrally located old harbour area is developed flexibly and through piloting, in close co-operation with residents, companies, city officials and other stakeholders. The vision of Kalasatama is to become so resource-wise that residents will gain an extra hour of own time every day.
