Casserole Club (community food sharing)

Casserole Club helps people share extra portions of home-cooked food with others in their area who might not always be able to cook for themselves. Like a local, community-led takeaway, members serve up meals to their neighbours, getting more people cooking fresh food while strengthening local neighbourhood relationships. Casserole Club helps those who are not online to order meals and connect with local people.

Conscious Consumer

The aim of the Association of Conscious Consumers is to support and strengthen sustainable consumption, ethical (environmentally and socially responsible) consumption and corporate operations, the sustainability of markets, and the knowledge about the rights and obligations of consumers in Hungary. Our association (ACC) has been promoting ethical, environmental and socially conscious consumption and lifestyle choices since 2001.

Házfal (house wall)

For residents: Hazfal is a public place, where the residents can get to know each other. Helps in the cooperation, makes easier the residents’ interest vindication. Hazfal offers such a management tool for the residents, which helps them to be informed about the businesses of the condominium in a transparent way, helps managing the tenants, from anywhere, whenever, from any device without language barrier. For administrators: Hazfal is a cloud based online service, which offers services for the administrators, especially made for them.

School presence supervision (NFC-based registration system)

Near Field Communication Technology (NFC) enabled attendance supervision trial was arranged at a primary school in Finland during the fall 2008. Total of 23 pupils between ages of 6 and 8 participated in the trial with an emphasis on security. Pupils marked their arrival at and departure from school by touching a smart card reader device or an NFC-enabled mobile phone with a contactless smart card.

Haarlem energy management (test)

Liander, in colloboration with Plugwise, has made it possible for 250 customers in the Haarlem region to test an energy management system free of charge for four months. The system enables the user to gain insight into energy consumption of each connected appliance on the applicable wall plug. Not only does the accompanying software make possible online monitoring of energy use, but it also enables the user to switch the appliances on and off automatically. The system gives the customer more insight into his or her energy consumption, which makes it easier to cut back on energy bills.

Internet academy

Through this lecture series citizens can acquire basic computer knowledge and can get a glimpse into the world of the internet and learn through online social network sites to maintain contacts with friends and relatives. They will know how to search and gather information on the internet. During the last two training sessions they can get ideas on how to spend their free time usefully to use the internet and how they can save time and money with it.
