Zalazone - test track

The Zalaegerszeg test track is unique, the traditional test track features focusing on driving and driving stability are implemented together with the research and development infrastructure elements connection with future vehicles on multi-level system for validation. The proving ground provides not only dynamics tests for conventional vehicle, but it also allows validation tests for autonomous vehicles and electric vehicles.

Sensibel button and application

Gathers and maps cyclists' experience using a Sensibel button and a participatory app.
Cycling is our least-understood and potentially most transformational mode of movement in cities.
Sensibel is a participatory platform that enables citizens to share their cycle commute stories by quickly placing a positive or negative “experience point” along their journey. Later, each cyclist can annotate their experience points with text and images.

Smart public transportation system

Smart city IT solutions transform the entire operation of the public transportation service of Tatabánya. The real-time vehicle tracking and  the passenger information system, the mobile travel planner application, the financial solution that integrates ticketing and financial settlements into one system have all been built from scratch in about one and a half years. The passenger wants to decide whether it is worth waiting for the bus or how much they have to pay for the route, preferably on a lenght basis, based on real-time digital vehicle tracking.

Protheus project

The aim of the „Protheus Project” is to build up a sustainable e-mobility system, produce renewable electricity, and store that energy for the use by the city of Paks and the surrounding Municipalities. The projects’ main goal is the creation of a healthier, more energy-efficient and inhabitant friendlier city. The projects are: charger infrasutcutre, driver qualification, e-move ticket and pass, electric bike and roller system, electric buses and cars/taxis, energy distribution, energy storage, home solar cells, Paks card, smart garage, Solar cell park and transporting application.

Solarway smart crosswalks

Pearl Enterprises Ltd. aims to achieve safe transport. With the products of the LightMark series (mostly the S2X), they have found the best lane and warning signs: the light. The system protects pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. By using this product, road users will immediately recognize that a pedestrian crossing or the reached a cycle path.
With the flashing function, it can be used as an active safety sign at crosses or crosswalks, which  can drastically reduce reaction time, which is a prerequisite of safe traffic.

Mayflower Autonomous Ship

The Mayflower Autonomous Ship (MAS) will begin its journey on 6 September 2020 and cross the Atlantic Ocean, from Plymouth to Plymouth. Like its namesake in 1620, MAS will rely to some extent on favourable weather to complete its crossing as it will be powered by state-of-the-art hybrid propulsion system, utilizing wind, solar, state-of-the-art batteries, and a diesel generator.

Transportation modeling (NOACA)

Transportation systems play a critical role in facilitating movement of people and goods. These systems (similar to any other major infrastructure investment) can take several years to construct and will exist for many decades. Wise planning is needed to help create and maintain high quality transportation facilities and services at a reasonable cost with minimal environmental impact and to enhance economic activity. The NOACA transportation models provide structured forecasts that establish an understanding of the transportation system performances and impacts of our interventions.

Smart traffic lights

The system developed by the TU Graz and the municipal department 33 (Public Lighting) differs significantly from a simple motion sensor. While such a system would switch to green even when any other object would pass it, the traffic light camera detects not only people but also whether there is a desire to cross or not. In addition to traffic lights with pedestrian recognition, there are also efforts in the City of Vienna to make the traffic light system as a whole smarter and more flexible. This is to be achieved by interconnecting all traffic lights.
