Foodlogica (environmentally friendly urban goods transport)

Last mile logistics Foodlogica is a logistical service designed to clean the last mile of Amsterdam's local food system using e-trikes.
Foodlogica links local food, consumers and businesses in Amsterdam’s city center through transport that reduces emissions, congestion and pollution. The company's flexible services suit diverse clients, such as local businesses such as food shops, small-scale food producers, chefs, restaurants, and other food related local actors in Amsterdam’s innovative, bike-friendly city.

Cargohopper (environmentally friendly urban goods transport)

Driving on green power, Cargohopper is designed for the delivery of packages and is able to do the work of 5 to 8 regular vans. It can do that because Cargohopper is a more than a nice looking little train, it is a complete logistics system. The three containers, are in fact separate boxes that can be put on and off the undercarriages by means of a forklift. 8 of those boxes fit on a European sized trailer of 13.60 meters.

Regent Street Delivery Consolidation Scheme

The Regent Street Delivery Consolidation Scheme has reduced delivery trips by 74 per cent, CO2 by 10 tonnes per annum, and improved air quality and reduced noise on this busy street. Since its implementation, there has been an 80 per cent reduction in lorry movements associated with Regent Street. The Swallow Street Refuse Scheme has reduced refuse lorry movements by 75 per cent and increased recycling rates to over 70 per cent.

Climate street – Cologne

Parts of the street will function as a role model for modern forms of energy saving and production methods as well as on electronic transportation devices and their recharging equipment. The street shall demonstrate that with the present stage of technology development a climate friendly energy management and urban transportation is under the conditions of market prices possible.

Climate street – Amsterdam

Utrechtsestraat Climate street. In the Climate street we will determine which technologies, cooperative agreements and approaches are the most successful to make the city's (shopping) streets more sustainable on a large scale. With the aim of realizing CO2 reduction and environmental saving in the street. Carrying out and implementing sustainable solutions are central in this approach. The focus of sustainable solutions lies in three main areas: entrepreneurs, the public space and the logistics.

Geuzenveld – Sustainable Neighborhood (test)

People are hardly aware of their energy use. This is often due to the fact that it is not visible in their homes. No attention is paid to devices that consume a lot of energy often causing these devices to be on stand-by unnecessarily. In the project Geuzenveld Sustainable Neighborhood smart technologies were tested that ought to change this tendency. More than five hundred houses dating from the fifties were provided with smart meters and some of them with an additional energy feedback display.

Carbon Offset Fund - database and GIS system

In order to deliver carbon savings, reduce fuel poverty and create local jobs – particularly through energy-efficient retrofits – the Carbon Offset Fund has developed two databases compiling data from a number of sources and integrating energy modelling. These aim to bridge the gap between strategic decisions and individual projects. The domestic version serves over 8,000 properties in the social housing sector across the borough, with the non-domestic version serving over 130 public buildings.

Municipal energy consumption management

The Municipality of Zaanstad has negotiated a new energy contract, that saves energy, stimulates the local production of renewables, and reduces energy costs substantially. The young energy company GreenChoice was selected as a contract partner for the coming years. The contract stipulates that the energy consumption of the Municipality will be reduced a full 15 % in the first two years. Greenchoice profits when a further reduction is realised, an innovative element in the contract that gives the energy company a clear interest in energy savings.
