Debrecen Smart City Meetup

The aim of the Smart City Meetups is to facilitate the development of a community in Debrecen which will support the Smart City endeavors and to provide space for the evolution of bottom-up approaches and to ensure the efficient flow of information between the project initiators. The visitors can take part in presentations about the three key areas of Smart City Debrecen on the monthly Start City Meetup events.

!gen Debrecen

!gen Debrecen is a practice-oriented startupper training, which ensure the appropriate theoretical background. The participants need to work as a group for 3 months. The mentors and instructors help their work to reach the final goal. The training ends with a competition, where investors and professionals choose the most promising project in which the winner gets a 200 thousand Forint prize as well.

ABC Accelerator

ABC is the acceleration engine that pushes new businesses and startups to greater heights, by providing services such as mentorship, management training, an initial investment and office space. Their vision is to establish South-Eastern Europe as a region of innovation.

Apps for Amsterdam (open data contest)

Apps for Amsterdam 2 was the second open data contest of the municipality of Amsterdam, in which developers were challenged to build apps based on municipality’s data. Besides the contest, in 2012 and 2013 informative meetings about open data were held where civil servants, developers and anyone interested could ask questions. Apps could be submitted if they relate to one of these six themes; safety, mobility, vacancy, energy, tourism & culture and democracy.

Startupbootcamp – Smart City & Living panel

Startupbootcamp is a global family of accelerators that focus on connecting startups with the most relevant and impactful connections in their industry. Each year Startupbootcamp runs industry-focused programs in more countries than any other accelerator in the world. All programs are located in global innovation hubs where startups spend 3 months meeting the top mentors, investors and partners in their industry from over 30 countries.

MOEASMEA (Small and medium-sized enterprises service center)

In collaboration with the SME Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, has provided SMEs with a series of guidance programs on e‐services based on their requirements and electronic workflow. Projects include Bridging Industry Digital Divide, Industryspecific e‐Commerce Business Operation Project, SME e‐Services Corps Project, SME e‐Learning Project (SME Online University), SME Knowledge Management Promotion Project. Other services are consulting for start‐ups, HR training, financing, marketing and promotion services.
