Pantry of Csömör

The Csömöri Éléskamra (Pantry of Csömör) is a community initiative, thanks to the voluntary work of its members. Individual orders are collected weekly and forwarded to the producers. Producers either deliver the products directly to the customer's address or deliver them to a collection point, where members can get their order packed by volunteers.

North Hegyhát Micro-Regional Union

The municipalities, economic parners, institutions and NGOs of the municipalities of Alsómocsolád, Bikal, Mágocs, Mekényes, Nagyhajmás decided in 2014 to work out a joint development program that would enable the synergistic development of the 5 settlements. The North Hegyhát Micro-Regional Union was born from this initiative, which main goal is to establish long-term and well-grounded cooperation between local governments, companies, institutions and organizations within the micro-region. Moreover, the Union intends to create the first "Smart Area" of Hungary.

Denver Urban Gardens

Denver Urban Gardens knows that in order to make lasting change, community needs to drive it. That’s why every one of our urban gardens and farms have been started and led by local residents. They currently have over 180 gardens in six counties in the Metro Denver Area. DUG gardeners grow food, but more than that, they grow community. They put down deep roots, providing resources, training, and support needed to establish enduring gardens and farms that become valuable assets to neighborhoods.

HelpyNet application

HelpyNet is an innovative free mobile application based relationship maintaining system, that solves every possible situation, be it an emergency, calling in a faulty device, or finding out about a local service.
HelpyNet not only contributes to the protection and wellbeing of the residents, but also makes two way communication possible between different institutes - like local governments, transportation companies, sport centers, or even touristic venues, or commercial centers/malls – and end users, in every situation.

City parklets - citymaking!wien

CityMaking!Wien provides a new toolkit that make it easier for the people to conceive and build parklets in Vienna. A parklet transform the street into a social node where people can share with their neighboors. The webpage offers different tools that will help the user to conceive and build its own living room in the city! The basic requirements and guidelines to build parklets are also listed.  Whats more the parklet potential map helps the usre to see where it might be possible to build a parklet in their surroundings.

 

Playkers - Social Sports For Smart Cities

Playkers is a social sport-oriented platform that gives end-to-end management solutions for amateur sports players and field owners. With Playkers, municipalities can maximize their sports facilities' occupancy and engage with targeted sports communities. Players can manage a full cycle of game participation, including setting up games, locating games that are seeking players, and finding and inviting players.

I give you food

The idea of the food boxes is not the idea of the association, it has been present in the country for years, but they would have liked to make this initiative available to local people as well. The boxes are 65x59x39 cm cabinets made of plastic with reinforced metal. The cabinet is made of waterproof and UV-protected material. Each box belongs to a volunteer team. The team visits the box several times a day in hot weather or at least once a day, checking the food in it. Volunteers also clean the boxes daily.

Kolorcity Kazincbarcika

The Municipality of Kazincbarcika realizes a local community building and community development program in partnership with local NGOs, businesses and local governmental organizations, with the support of the European Union and the Government of Hungary.

With the slogan "Color City", the Kolorcity concept started in 2011, resulting in the creative painting of more than 30 facades of buildings; a number of new statues, street art works, and the yearly COLORFESTIVAL, sports and recreational events colored the city's everyday life.

Urban Farming and Gardening

The city of Vienna supports neighborhood and community gardens under the motto “gardening together” and thus creates a framework that facilitates access to nature for residents of the city. The citizens of Vienna are increasingly taking up their garden implements and creating little gems of communal, self-determined urban cultivation. Under the banners of “urban farming” and “urban gardening” a framework is being created that promotes closeness to nature within the city and self-initiatives.
