In the spring of 2016, the 48-seat Mesevonat crèche was built in Zugló, at the busy junction of Queen Elisabeth Avenue and Öv Street, with several innovative solutions. The crèche also offers temporary childcare for parents seeking work, as well as many other special services.
The building has two low-pitched green-roofed wings that run almost down to ground level. The entrance forms a small community pocket park where parents can meet each other and the nursery and community can hold small celebrations and events. The building has a compact structure, with internal and external spaces that functionally meet the needs of the staff and children. All paved areas of the nursery are accessible to children and parents.
The building is designed to meet A+ energy standards, with heat recovery ventilation and solar panels. The excellent green roof, which also retains a significant proportion of rainwater, will certainly contribute to improving the urban climate in the area.
