The aim of this initiative is to identify and promote projects by entrepreneurs in the area of municipal services. The programme, coordinated by Ferrovial Services in cooperation with Ferrovial’s Innovation Department, chose 9 projects which aim to improve living standards and urban mobility for citizens. Once the selection process was complete, the programme offered training and advisory services to help the selected participants create a viable business model, as well as an incubation period to develop their initiatives. The chosen solutions were inserted in Ferrovial Services’ Catalogue of Innovative Solutions. The Programme, which ran from July 2014 to June 2015, enabled Ferrovial Services to help reactivate the city’s economy, generating a long-term social and economic impact that will attract new Spanish and foreign entrepreneurial initiatives to the city of Madrid, making it an international showcase. Madrid Smart Lab also fostered competitiveness in Spain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in connection with smart cities, attracting entrepreneurs with high potential and making the city a meeting point for entrepreneurs and investors.
