Beijing Smart Government: The Lucky Cloud Project

Beijing Smart Government: The Lucky Cloud Project

Beijing was chosen as a pilot city during the” EU-China partnership on Urbanization-2013- Smart City Sub Forum”. It aims to develop smarter services in healthcare, payments, traffic and living for instance, which should greatly improve people’s day to day lives. Beijing Smart Government cloud data center is a major demonstration project for cloud computing services under the "Lucky Cloud Project", the project provides a full series of products, including server, storage device, switch, and security device, firewall, and cloud platform. Professional services, such as planning, service transfer using cloud technology, and O&M enable resource integration at multiple levels, unified service egress, and centralized O&M. It also provides efficient service transfer tools to promote fast and smooth transfer of government cloud platform services. ATOS World grid was appointed in China to bring a global expertise and know-how to help the country improve energy networks and solve problems related to urbanization. Solutions provided were: an automated meter reading, automated meter management and automated grid Management. Schneider Electric will develop smart mobility management systems and surveillance systems to improve citizen safety and security. These solutions meet two fundamental objectives: optimising real-time traffic management to enable a reduction in the number of bottlenecks occurring in the road system and facilitate traffic flow by preventing traffic congestion; and ensuring effective use of mobility infrastructure and helping to optimise infrastructure use without the need for costly investments. The projects also include implementation of building automation systems (BAS).
