The municipality of Budapest's 2nd district provides several mandatory and voluntary services to its communities, and while fulfilling these duties, large sets of data are created about the district. With the widespread use of information technologies, most of these are available digitally. In the European Union's program supporting regional development and cummunity cohesion, in accordance with eEurope's information policy goals, the integration and reuse of these data to support and improve local SME competitiveness is a high priority. During planning the reuse of municipal data we considered the options that can best serve local businesses and citizens with information not available elsewhere. Such data sets are for instance the registries of institutions, service providers (e.g. social institutions, businesses, hospitality) or the map of properties available for rent.
