The BIOFABRIK Technologies GmbH group of companies based in Dresden develops and markets innovative technologies for the sustainable management of energy, nutrition and waste problems worldwide. BIOFABRIK aims to reduce the destructive extraction of fossil raw materials and focuses on the development of more profitable and climate-neutral business models.
The White Refinery business unit is developing WASTX technology, which enables plastic and oily waste materials to be fully automatically recycled for useful material and energy applications. The chemical compounds of the problem substances are dissolved in the decentralised compact pyrolysis plant and returned to their liquid form – a diesel-like energy carrier remains. The technology turns one kilo of plastic into approx. one litre of fuel and thus up to 10 kilowatt hours of energy.
