Smart Economy

For guests visiting the city there is an attractive and comfortable application for all essential tourist information and in the life of the community the updated information can become a driving force for the local citizens. City services provided by the municipality or other institutions has an institutional list with contacts and office opening hours. The application users can report various events, anomalies (potholes, broken street lights, broken pipes, etc.) with their smartphones giving exact loaction, photo and personal contact.

T-City is a multi-annual development and innovation program of Magyar Telekom and Szolnok City. It launched in 2009 with the aim that citizens try out and test the telecommunication and information technologies and content services. The participating residents institutions and local government organizations help with their experience and feedback to improve the services before launch. The main objective of the T-city is to show and exploit ICT opportunities for all aspects of life - health, education, public administration, tourism, culture, transport, economy.

The Open Data catalogue provides free and open access to over 145 City datasets. New datasets are added on a continual basis. Open and accessible data is defined as non-personally identifiable data that is made freely available to everyone in one or more open and accessible formats.

VanMap is a Web-based application that lets you view data about Vancouver in map form. The City's GIS (Geographical Information Systems) department gathers information and data from a variety of sources, and constructs detailed map layers for you to view, save, and print out. VanMap is a large part of the City's overall open map strategy, along with Google maps for day-to-day user views. 

VanConnect is an app for your smartphone that: Allows you to view and access information about various City programs and services. Increases online engagement, giving you the ability to submit a service request for issues you spot around the city from abandoned garbage and graffiti removal, to pothole and street light repairs.

The Digital Strategy aims to enhance multidirectional digital connections among citizens, employees, business, and government. To keep pace with technology, and minimize risk and maximize value for taxpayers, we: Track our progress using the strategy's digital maturity model. Base our decisions and actions on the strategy's pillars, goals, and objectives.

This intelligent electricity network (Smart Grid) contains additional computers and sensors placed in the grid. As such current and voltage are monitored continuously to provide more accurate monitoring and control functions. In the past these functions weren’t available at this level.

The smart energy masterplanning tool makes innovative use of GIS technology to analyse the geospatial inter-relationships between energy demand density, development implementation programmes, physical constraints and cost information.

The project aims to study the sun power over whole cities, creating databases and mapping the results. Databases offer an overview about the sun irradiation conditions, photovoltaic production and Co2 emissions saved. Data are interpreted by a specific viewer software which allows navigate over irradiation maps, get information in points, selected areas or the whole city.

The Mayor's Office of Technology and Innovation is led by New York City's first-ever Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Minerva Tantoco, who was appointed by Mayor de Blasio to drive citywide technology strategy. Under her leadership, the office facilitates citywide coordination and collaboration on technology issues, serves as a catalyst for and advises agencies on innovation, and interacts with the wider New York City technology ecosystem. The office's mission is to fulfill Mayor de Blasio's vision of making NYC the most innovative, tech-friendly, and equitable big city in the world.
