Living PlanIT announced at the Clinton Global Initiative today that it is working with Hitachi to deliver the City Data Market for Copenhagen, a recognized leader in smart city programs. This innovative platform, based on Living PlanIT's PlanIT Urban Operating System, further delivers on Copenhagen's commitment to bring economic, social, and environmental improvements and sustainability to the city.

Traffic Information Platform (Real-time data collection and sharing)

A number of Forum Virium Helsinki’s projects, such as the development of a traffic information platform have led to successful commercial deployments following extensive trials, whereas others aim to implement the strategic goal of Finland towards open data such as the Helsinki Region Infoshare project. The traffic information platform, for example, captures real-time data and informs citizens about traffic congestion, roadworks, accidents or elks spotted on the motorway.

EcoTrafiX transport management

The solution is a comprehensive map-based system built on sharing and collaboration to achive transport efficiency, safety and  sustainability. It helps to the authorities and operators to assist the different actors work together with pre-approved, coordinated, data-driven responses. The single user interface combines all of the traffic and transport systems which significantly improves the operators' recognition ability and the  opportunities of intervention and actuation. It also helps to reduce congestion and it promotes the use of public transport.

Forum Virium Helsinki

Forum Virium Helsinki is an innovation unit within the Helsinki City organization. It develops new digital services in cooperation with companies, other City of Helsinki units and residents. Our objective is to build better city services, create new business opportunities as well as open up new contacts for international markets. Forum Virium Helsinki’s development projects drive the creation of digital city services. From the very start, ideas under development are tested as part of users’ everyday lives. Another goal is to create new business opportunities for companies.

Ijburg Living Lab

The emerging neighbourhood of IJburg is Amsterdam’s youngest district. It was only in the late 1990s that the decision was made to reclaim land and start construction of the neighbourhood. IJburg has been developed with a relatively high number of houses that are suitable for families, meaning the overall population is notably young. IJburg residents also have access to the fastest public fibre optic broadband internet in the world: up and down speeds of 500Mb/s are possible on the network.

New York City – Hudson Yards

The project, a $20 billion, 28-acre commercial and residential area on Manhattan’s west side, is touted as being the largest development in the city since the Rockefeller center. Hudson Yards will digitally track environmental and lifestyle factors—like traffic, energy consumption, and air quality—and will include a trash-disposal system to remove waste via underground pneumatic tubes. It is being designed specifically to bring in millennials, and to provide the highest quality of life for those living, working, and visiting the area.

SmartLAB Knowledge Center

The mission of the Smartlab Knowledge Center is to cooperate and support our partners to succeed in their business by its complex, cross-disciplinary and innovative activities based on the R&D competencies of Obuda University. Smartlab also provides its infrastructural assets for educational purposes (in BSc and MSc but primarily on the level of PhD).

Design Terminal – mentor program

The mentoring program is special even when compared to a broad range of its European counterparts. During the six months spent together, the participating design labels, tech businesses and urban development have ample opportunity to learn from each other, as we are well aware that today’s most successful products are most often born from collaborative efforts across these three fields.
