Local Food Community of Nyíregyháza

The Local Food Community of Nyíregyháza is a non-governmental initiative working to strengthen and even revitalize the local economy. They welcome real local produce producers as well as customers who are looking to consume with sustainability in mind. They believe that increasing the consumption of local products contributes to strengthen  the local economy and the creation of real jobs. Every remaining penny sooner or later returns, and the local economy is enriched by the community.
 

Green Basket Community of Miskolc

The Green Basket Community of Miskolc is a conscious producer-consumer community. Their members are committed to an environmentally friendly, sustainable lifestyle.
One of the primary goals of the community is to provide local people with lower environmental impact, healthy, environmentally friendly and handicraft products, build trust and human relationships between producers and consumers, and ensure the livelihoods of the region's reliable producers through their purchases.

 

Kecskemét Local Food Community

Volunteers from the Kecskemét Local Food Community are working to help the locals to reach eco-friendly lifestyle. Promoting the consumption of local products helpt to increase the environmental impact, coming from a healthier, fresher, sustainable source that minimizes consumer packaging. Besides the environmental and health protection, buying from local producers, benefits consumers in the local economy and, more importantly, in the local community.

Pantry of Csömör

The Csömöri Éléskamra (Pantry of Csömör) is a community initiative, thanks to the voluntary work of its members. Individual orders are collected weekly and forwarded to the producers. Producers either deliver the products directly to the customer's address or deliver them to a collection point, where members can get their order packed by volunteers.

Megyer, the village for rent

The mayor of Megyer (the smallest village in Hungary) had an innovative idea to save the village from disappearing by renting the„whole” village for about 670 EUR/day, one can get control over 7 guesthouses, the town hall, the local stables, the animals, a classroom, a canteen, the farmlands.The tenant can also become deputy mayor and rename the streets. Runs as a cooperative(the owners of the cottages as members) and giving job to 8 more people.

North Hegyhát Micro-Regional Union

The municipalities, economic parners, institutions and NGOs of the municipalities of Alsómocsolád, Bikal, Mágocs, Mekényes, Nagyhajmás decided in 2014 to work out a joint development program that would enable the synergistic development of the 5 settlements. The North Hegyhát Micro-Regional Union was born from this initiative, which main goal is to establish long-term and well-grounded cooperation between local governments, companies, institutions and organizations within the micro-region. Moreover, the Union intends to create the first "Smart Area" of Hungary.

The Climate Equity Toolkit

The Climate Equity Toolkit is a top-down overview of the effects of climate change in Colorado at the county level. Each topic covered is analyzed with overlaying data on climate exposure, sensitivity to change and adaptive capacity, as it relates to sectors such as agriculture, water, food, national security, transportation, outdoor recreation and more. This educational data visualization tool includes place-based knowledge focused on how climate change affects the most vulnerable communities across Colorado.

Alliance Center

The Alliance Center is a multi-faceted nonprofit with an event and collaborative working space, located in the heart of Denver. They convene and mobilize our network of non-profit organizations, for-profit businesses, government agencies, academic institutions and community members to collaboratively create sustainability-focused solutions. They are explorers and innovators—working at the leading edge of sustainability to support a healthy planet, a strong democracy, and a thriving economy. The Alliance Center does not work alone.They create solutions through the strength of partnerships.

PocketGuide tour guide application

PocketGuide is the first application that works automatically and guides the user through the city by voice, just like a real tour guide. No more fiddling with small text on the screen! Throughout the tour users can record their experiences (photos, videos, personal commentary...etc) and, with just one click, create an amazing 3D video. Once  the tour is downloaded, the application can work in offline mode so there is no need to pay roaming charges. It has tours in more than 150 cities worldwide.

Denver Community Planning and Development

At Denver Community Planning and Development, they envision, enable and ensure a better Denver. Planning Services staff work with Denver’s communities to prepare plans — as well as regulations for land use and design — that guide the city’s growth, enhancement and preservation. Development Services staff review plans and issue permits for development projects big and small — from do-it-yourself home improvements to large commercial developments. They green light projects while ensuring compliance with building, fire and zoning codes.
