Geuzenveld – Sustainable Neighborhood (test)

People are hardly aware of their energy use. This is often due to the fact that it is not visible in their homes. No attention is paid to devices that consume a lot of energy often causing these devices to be on stand-by unnecessarily. In the project Geuzenveld Sustainable Neighborhood smart technologies were tested that ought to change this tendency. More than five hundred houses dating from the fifties were provided with smart meters and some of them with an additional energy feedback display.

NDSM – incubation center

Long ago, this area was all water. The NDSM story began in the nineteenth century with land that was sprayed in the IJ. For a century, ships were built here, at the largest shipyard in Amsterdam. Whole neighborhoods in North Amsterdam, including Tuindorp Oostzaan, were built to house the wharf employees. The district is closely interwoven with the industry. The Nederlandse Droogdok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij (Dutch Dock and Shipbuilding Company) went bankrupt in 1984 after a restart as NSM.

RDM Campus

RDM Rotterdam is the innovation showcase of the Rotterdam port area, where applied science is visualized in an attractive way. Right in the center of the port – yet surprisingly close to the city – the former shipyard of the Rotterdam Drydock Company (RDM) accommodates businesses, education and research. Together they are shaping the new manufacturing industry for both the port and city. A variety of business and cultural events complements this and makes for a dynamic and energetic RDM, a place you must see!

City Service

Városszervíz (City Service) is a mobile application where residents can report appropriate urban management errors and problems and the correction process can be followed. The application works in the field connected to the system operators. With City Service the citizens can be esaily involved in city ​​maintenance tasks with a smart phone application. The starting point of the concept is that people like to help and participate in the maintenance work  if you make it them simple, interesting and experience-like.

T-City Mobile City

For guests visiting the city there is an attractive and comfortable application for all essential tourist information and in the life of the community the updated information can become a driving force for the local citizens. City services provided by the municipality or other institutions has an institutional list with contacts and office opening hours. The application users can report various events, anomalies (potholes, broken street lights, broken pipes, etc.) with their smartphones giving exact loaction, photo and personal contact.

T-City Szolnok

T-City is a multi-annual development and innovation program of Magyar Telekom and Szolnok City. It launched in 2009 with the aim that citizens try out and test the telecommunication and information technologies and content services. The participating residents institutions and local government organizations help with their experience and feedback to improve the services before launch. The main objective of the T-city is to show and exploit ICT opportunities for all aspects of life - health, education, public administration, tourism, culture, transport, economy.

VanMap (map databases)

VanMap is a Web-based application that lets you view data about Vancouver in map form. The City's GIS (Geographical Information Systems) department gathers information and data from a variety of sources, and constructs detailed map layers for you to view, save, and print out. VanMap is a large part of the City's overall open map strategy, along with Google maps for day-to-day user views.
