SynchroniCity

SynchroniCity is funded under Europe’s Horizon 2020 programme and connects 34 partners, 8 European Cities and 11 countries over four continents. This project was created to help cities simplify the adoption of new services that tackle urban challenges using Internet of Things (IoT) and data technologies. SynchroniCity will create a harmonised market place for IoT enabled and urban data services.

FORTE® GeoMeter®600

The FORTE® GeoMeter®600 spatial data collection system is a 100% Hungarian innovation that has already been introduced at CeBit. Smart gathering of information is essential to operate smart cities. With the FORTE GeoMeter 600, all the public buildings, locations and dimensions of the settlement are recorded with 360 ° panoramic images. With a single automatic survey, the local government gets up-to-date data assets that are now indispensable for modern urban management and settlement development.

FORTEMAP 8.1 Geoinformatics and Customer Service System

The FORTE®MAP 8.1 Geospatial System of Intermap Ltd. fully supports municipal administration and decision-making processes. In the city of Dunakeszi, a unique solution has been introduced:  with a unique survey, the full virtual print of the city can be accessed by administrators, any public space position can get a full panoramic view, in spatial panoramas, the spatial position of public objects can be determined by pointing out and displayed in the GIS, measurements can be made on the panorama images.

Smart Kalasatama

Kalasatama Smart City district of Helsinki is an experimental innovation platform to co-create smart urban infrastructure and services. This centrally located old harbour area is developed flexibly and through piloting, in close co-operation with residents, companies, city officials and other stakeholders. The vision of Kalasatama is to become so resource-wise that residents will gain an extra hour of own time every day.

Madame Mayor I have an idea

To build a fair, progressive and sustainable city, knowledge of the local community is one of the greatest resources and the most important means of exchanging and discussing thoughts. This requires the city's tools to help city dwellers easily contribute to larger and smaller projects. The aim of the "Madame Mayor, I Have an Idea" digital platform is to encourage the widest possible and open participation.

Debrecen Smart City

The concept of Debrecen Smart city is to establish an intelligent, innovative, livable, effective, sustainable, smart, healthy and rich city. Our city's management works together with the business and voluntary sectors, public utility companies, advisors, the University of Debrecen, and international organizations to deal with operational tasks through innovative, eco-conscious technological solutions and to reach the management’s long-term goals.

Automated Meter Reading

New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is automating its water meter reading capabilities to increase billing accuracy and provide customers with the tools they need to better manage their water usage. The Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system consists of small, low-power radio transmitters connected to individual water meters that send daily readings to a network of rooftop receivers throughout the city. In most cases, the transmitters are placed where water meter remote receptacles are currently located.

Urban Forest Visual

The City of Melbourne maintains more than 70,000 trees. To manage them they launched the Melbourne Urban Forest Visual project which is a web-based map that gave every tree in the city an individual ID, as well as noting the species and probable life expectancy. The mapping site invited residents to report dying, damaged or vandalised trees so that they could be repaired or replaced.

Decide Madrid

The open consultation and direct democracy platform was launched by the city of Madrid after the recent municipal elections. Enables citizens to propose, debate priorities and implement policy for the city. On the website citizens can create a thread where they can discuss any topic they want to share with other people in the city, and can propose what they want the City Council to do and support proposals from other people. Citizen proposals that reach 1% of support will be put to a vote. The first six months of each year citizens can decide how to spend part of the city budget.

Better Reykjavík

Better Reykjavík is an online consultation forum where citizens are given the chance to present their ideas on issues regarding services and operations of the City of Reykjavík. Anyone can view the open forum and registered users who approve the terms of participation can participate in the forum. When a user presents an idea on the Better Reykjavík forum, it is automatically considered the public property of the residents of Reykjavík and the original idea can change considerably during the consultative process provided on this forum.
