Huawei - Smart Government

Huawei used its expertise gained from working with government sectors to develop the e-Government platform. Based on the IP network, the e-Government supports data access and transmission at lower layers and enhances service connection and data processing at higher layers. It provides all-IP, high-bandwidth services, reduces operational risks, and enhances system reliability.

Ferrovial Services

Ferrovial Services is one of the four business divisions of Ferrovial, one of the world's leading infrastructure and service operators. Ferrovial Services performs activities along the value chain (consulting, design, operation and whole life cycle maintenance) and has operations in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Americas and the Middle East. Urban services are one of Ferrovial Services' main activities through its work with more than one thousand municipalities.

Madrid Smart Lab

The aim of this initiative is to identify and promote projects by entrepreneurs in the area of municipal services. The programme, coordinated by Ferrovial Services in cooperation with Ferrovial’s Innovation Department, chose 9 projects which aim to improve living standards and urban mobility for citizens. Once the selection process was complete, the programme offered training and advisory services to help the selected participants create a viable business model, as well as an incubation period to develop their initiatives.

Ciudad 2020

The CIUDAD 2020 project aims to develop a new model for a sustainable and efficient city focusing on three basic pillars: energy, transport and environmental monitoring. For this, it uses the Internet of the Future as the basic facilitating element to stimulate synergies between the aforementioned pillars, as well as interaction with residents, making CIUDAD 2020 a benchmark model towards which every city should evolve to reach the standards of quality of life, efficiency and sustainability that all 21st century cities should provide.

PRENDE: Platform for the Energy Refurbishment of Eco-Efficient Urban Districts

The PRENDE Project aims to develop an innovative people-centred service offered through IT tools to provide information on and boost local interest in increasing the energy efficiency of urban districts. The PRENDE project deals with the issue of energy refurbishment in Spain, by developing and applying an integrating methodology which draws on insights from other disciplines to implement a new strategy for encouragement and communication which is wholly citizen-focused.

Sheffield Smart Lab

An urban innovation programme, the first project of its type in the United Kingdom and internationally, has searched for innovative solutions that address two important challenges that Sheffield faces: making the city centre more dynamic and increasing the autonomy of citizens in situations of dependence. Sheffield Smart Lab was launched in summer 2015, calling out to entrepreneurs and innovators across the world who had forward-thinking solutions to the challenges faced by Sheffield currently and in the decades to come.

Smart City App Hack

The Smart City App Hack (SCAH) brings together a global network of smart cities facing similar challenges and a common vision: to turn citizens into solutions builders, empowering them to make apps and businesses that will make for a better city. Engaged communities have found inspiration in five main themes: urban mobility, energy & emissions, shopping & retail, culture & tourism, and the collaborative city. A global, diverse team of experts has helped participants to build their app over the course of 6 months: from idea to finished product.

Priva'Mov

The goal of this project is to make a platform for collecting new types of urban and social mobility records available to the researchers of the IMU community, to deepen their research and validate their hypotheses and models. Many communities seek to improve their understanding of urban mobility behaviours: scientific communities (sociologists, philosophers, geographers, economists, urban planners, logisticians and computer programmers), territorial communities, transportation organisation agencies, businesses, etc. However, these records comprise sensitive personal data.

Berlin is not only one of the most attractive business hubs in Germany; it is also a laboratory for efficient infrastructure, informational networking, sustainable mobility, creativity and combining high productivity with high quality of life. Smart City is the integrated approach to all the future topics with which we, as a city, will be dealing with in the decades to come. It is about anticipating trends and developments in all areas that affect life in a big city.

mCity Application

mCity acts as a system of systems for monitoring, controlling and optimizing all smart city domains in a single dashboard with minimal training or support. Its best of breed approach utilizes existing systems and sensors without the need for expensive forklifts. Comprising modular building blocks that easily integrate to new sensors and systems from any vendor, mCity quickly adapts to the city's ever-changing reality.
