MURAL digital workspace

MURAL is a digital workspace for visual collaboration. The platform and services enable innovative teams to think and collaborate visually to solve important problems. Busticket for squats

A new type of ticket vending machine was built at one of the bus stops in Cluj-Napoca. Anyone who does 20 squats in one minute can get a valid bus ticket for free.

The squats are monitored by a built-in camera system, and the countdown can be followed on the screen.

The action is part of the “Ticket of Health” campaign, which is backed by a sports festival.

Kuube smart bench

A Hungarian company called Kuube sells smart benches, which are equipped with USB ports, wireless chargers, and also act as a wifi hotspot. The benches are solely powered by solar energy, so thanks to the renewable energy, there is no need for a separate power supply, so the location of the installation can be chosen freely. During its operation, it constantly monitors changes in its environment: it measures temperature, UV level, air quality, humidity and air pressure, transmits the data to a server and, if necessary, notifies its owner.

Digital Hasuri

Hasuri Ausanpur village has 23 Wi-Fi hotspots and 23 CCTV cameras for its population of just over 1,000. It even has a website that features the GIS map of the entire village — agricultural land, grazing land, networks of roads and canals.

Road ID bracelet

Road Id bracelets were invented for people who are usually playing sports alone (e.g., running, biking, riding, climbing a wall, walking a dog). Customers can request different information on the labels: medical history, allergies, contact information, etc., so it can be easier to reach relatives and facilitate medical care in various accidents. Labels can be easily applied to different types of smart bracelets, or even shoes, animal collars. Their mission is two-fold: One, to educate outdoor enthusiasts about the importance of wearing ID.

RiverEdge Smart Park

River Edge Park is a vibrant, year round concert venue located along the Fox River just blocks from downtown and the train station, which boasts a river walk, bike paths and a pier. The City has committed integrating the park's infrastructure with technology to better position city officials and staff to keep track of crowds, provide better security and monitor parking security and availability. The park includes smart solutions such as smart kiosks, smart parking (lot occupancy, dynamic pricing), video analytics (crowd counting), smart lighting and wifi locations.

Smart bench in the Alps

Courmayeur Municipality and Secure Mountain Foundation co-operated to provide a ‘Smart Bench’ which was airlifted to an elevation of 8,645 feet to a mountain refuge stone hut called “La Casemate”. The Smart Bench communicates data and information to citizens and tourists about trails, people traffic in the immediate area, along with critical environmental conditions. This data will be used to validate when municipal employees or Secure Mountain Foundation volunteers should be deployed to the stone hut during times of peak visitations.

KaiOS is a software that gives smartphone capabilities to inexpensive mobile phones and helps open portals to learning opportunities.Opens up new possibilities for individuals, organisations, and societies by bringing mobile connectivity to people without internet in emerging markets, as well as providing those in established markets with an alternative to smartphones.

Life by KaiOS

Life by KaiOS Technologies, an in-house educational app for KaiOS-powered smart feature phones, is available in Africa. KaiOS users in Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, and South Africa can now find the app available for download via the KaiStore, with more countries coming soon.

Mobile ticketing in Japan

Masabi, the company bringing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ticketing and payments to public transport, and Jorudan, Japan’s leading trip planning service, announced that they have launched mobile ticketing within the Jorudan app. More than 10 million users throughout Japan are now able to plan their journey, book their seats and buy Syoei Express Bus tickets directly from Jorudan’s Norikae Annai app and then use their phone to ride bus services. Jorudan will also be adding ticketing for further transport operators in the coming months.
