Siemens and Microsoft are working together with customers to address core urban challenges and developing MindSphere City Graph - an Open Urban Platform, which supports digital models of urban design, providing rich context to enable the new generation of city applications.
This collaboration targets the needs of cross vertical data integration and analysis within cities, communities, districts, or campuses with an Open Urban Platform based on Siemens MindSphere the leading industrial IoT as a service solution. The integration of the new Microsoft Azure Digital Twin and City Graph Services into MindSphere will offer cities the possibility to break through information silos and have for the first time access to information put in proper context.
To get a fair digital representation of a city we need to create a model of the reality and have the possibility to add context to the entities, e.g. relationships between city systems. Therefore, different domains (electricity, individual and public transportation, waste disposal, etc.) can be merged in one digital city model.
