The city of Sejong is located in Korea and is a national model of a smart city. It is surrounded by a beautiful natural environment, the Happy City at the confluence of the Miho River and the Geum River.
The city's living spaces have been optimised for seven innovation drivers: mobility, health, education and jobs, energy and environment, governance, culture and shopping, and life and safety. The area operates with an integrated city management system based on data flows, from data generation to data collection, processing, analysis and use, through which urban data is opened up and used to build citizen-centred governance and create new business models, turning the city into a data-driven sustainable innovation ecosystem.
Sejong National Pilot Smart City is a city created with citizens from design to operation. It can freely demonstrate and integrate technologies related to the fourth industrial revolution in locations without development plans. It also aims to demonstrate a leading model for the smart city of the future by creating an innovative industrial ecosystem capable of delivering creative business models.
