Magyar Telekom is building a 5G test network in Zalaegerszeg. The Zalaegerszeg test track provides a good basis for Hungary to become one of the European hubs for 5G developments and to play a regional role in testing new network technology and smart solutions built on it.
To support this, Telekom is launching an experimental 5G mobile communications network on the automotive test track in Zalaegerszeg. Currently, 4G and 4G + mobile networks are the most advanced avalaible mobile network technology, but the infrastructure for the future is clearly based on 5G. With T-Systems Hungary's competencies, applications that operate on the state-of-the-art digital infrastructure can reach the town. The company also collaborates on testing and developing self-driving cars and smart transportation solutions.
