India Smart City Mission

In the approach to the Smart Cities Mission, the objective is to promote cities that provide core infrastructure and give a decent quality of life to its citizens, a clean and sustainable environment and application of ‘Smart’ Solutions. The focus is on sustainable and inclusive development and the idea is to look at compact areas, create a replicable model which will act like a light house to other aspiring cities. The Smart Cities Mission of the Government is a bold, new initiative.

ELUD - Urban logistical efficiency of sustainable food

The aim of this project is to offer a methodology providing a framework for simulating scenarios, as well as a set of indicators and tools for evaluating and analysing the sustainable performance of players involved in the logistics and transport of fresh products in order to estimate the sustainability of new urban food delivery systems, particularly to meet a growing demand for ecoresponsible products and services.

Community-based automated parking system in Germany

Community-based parking is the connected solution for finding available parking spaces on the street quickly. Via sensors and connectivity hardware, vehicles identify available spaces as they drive past. Drivers looking for parking benefit from the data acquired by the community, and can be guided to available spaces in a more rapid, convenient, and precise manner using information displayed to them in real time. Instead of a time-consuming search, vehicles can proceed directly to available spaces.

Strøget - The Predestrian Street

Digital City Card

In the future a digital city card may be the key to all Helsinki services. Visits to the swimming pool, bus journeys, library loans and appointments at the health care centre would all be managed with a single card. In the past yeast, Forum Virium Helsinki has run pilots to test how HRT travel card could work as a digital city card. Pilots have been run with several libraries, among others. HRT travel card is in the pocket of every Helsinki resident. This is why it has been a perfect starting point to start piloting the city card.

Smart Urban Logistic in Austria

The aim of the “Smart Urban Logistics” initiative is to build up an Austrian networking platform to boost and promote intelligent solutions in the field of urban logistics. The intention is to make stakeholders aware of the topic, to create acceptance for innovative technologies, to initiate a communication process, to support further discussions and to be the incentive for the start of pilot projects that help to design future cities.

Austrian Mobile Power

Austrian Mobile Power was established in 2009 as a platform to promote electric mobility within, and from, Austria. With members drawn from a wide range of industries, they represent concentrated know-how in the vehicle, infrastructure and energy sectors, technology providers and industry associations, all under a single roof. They have set ourselves the goal of networking relevant players in politics and business and to jointly generate ideas to drive electric mobility in Austria, both at product and service level and through public relations activities.

Walkonomics (green pedestrian navigation)

At Walkonomics we believe the future will be Walkable. Over half the world's population currently live in cities and by 2050 this will rise to 70%. These densely populated mega-cities will have to be walkable just to function. Walkable cities and neighbourhoods also create many other benefits including reducing obesity and improving health, boosting the economy and reducing carbon emissions. Walkonomics exists to make this walkable future a reality. We are doing this by creating technology, tools and communities that make cities, neighbourhoods and streets where people want to walk.
