Citymapper

We use the power of mobile and open transport data to help humans survive and master them. We’re also reinventing the bus for the smart city era. The ultimate transport app, built for commuters and their daily needs. A to B directions that humans actually use in cities, comparing multimodal options in real-time. We need transport to operate smarter and react to demand in real-time. So we’re building our own services and reinventing the bus for the smart city era.

Lilium Jet - Air Taxi

Lilium enables you to travel 5 times faster than a car by introducing the world’s first all-electric vertical take-off and landing jet: an air taxi for up to 5 people. You won’t have to own one, you will simply pay per ride and call it with a push of a button. It’s our mission to make air taxis available to everyone and as affordable as riding a car. Quiet electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) is the technology that will change travel forever. It enables you to access city centres with an aircraft.

Connecthings (location-based information service)

Connecthings meets the challenge of giving cities the digital tool to support people’s mobility and cultural experience in offering real time information and contextual services in the areas of transport, cultural and touristic heritage and day-to-day life, through the implementation of contactless tags readable by any Smartphone (NFC & QR codes) Connecthings provides contactless mobile services through the implementation of tags (NFC/QR codes) on street furniture and public spaces, finally bridging physical and virtual worlds.

GrowSmarter

In a rapidly urbanising world cities need to become smarter to respond to citizen needs and to reduce their environmental footprint. GrowSmarter brings together cities and industry to integrate and demonstrate ‘12 smart city solutions’ in energy, infrastructure and transport, to provide other cities with valuable insights on how they work in practice and opportunities for replication.

Spiga Smart Street

The pilot project, in anticipation of Expo 2015, has the intention of making the City of Milan decidedly smarter through elements like a brand new LED lighting system and free ultrafast Wi-Fi. The energy saving lighting system will give the street a completely new look – and name – Spiga Smart Street.  Other innovative services for both citizens and visitors include a multimedia touch screen dedicated to communication and travel information, sustainable mobility with stations for charging electric cars and bikes as well as SOS and video surveillance system for security.

Sant Cugat Smart Street

The City Hall delimited a sustainable high-tech zone (smart street) where to implement a series of innovative measures. The result of the job done, together with ten Catalan ICT companies, was the implementation of a guided vehicle parking, an intelligent garbage refuse collection point, a street lighting sensitive to presence, an irrigation system dependent of the humidity levels and a pedestrian crossing equipped with lighted sensors, among others.

Aurora - intelligent test road in Finland

Aurora is a public test ecosystem created to ensure intelligent and automated transport as well as solutions for road maintenance and asset management to meet the requirements of all conditions. The public test area is open for all organisations interested. It allows gathering first-hand information on how to develop both the physical and digital infrastructure to serve the needs of high-performance future transportation.

Smarter Urban Dynamics in Ireland

The Smarter Urban Dynamics (SUD) team at the IBM Research - Ireland focuses on developing analytics and tools to better understand and optimize the urban dynamics. This team develops research around three areas:
• Leveraging digital traces from mobile devices to gain an insight in why, how and when we travel. Using this information, mobility demand can be predicted and transport resource capacity accordingly allocated, offline or in real-time.

Tel-O-Fun

Tel-O-Fun is a bike sharing service in Tel Aviv. With 2,000 bicycles, 200 stations and 130 Km of riding lanes, Tel-O-Fun green bikes have become a natural transportation choice for locals and tourists, and it's available 24/7. The project aims to reduce air pollution, create a friendly atmosphere in the city, and encourage physical activity and fitness.

Huawei - Smart Transport

Huawei Smart Transport Solution takes full advantage of "fast, efficient, safe, and convenient" highways with an ICT-based digital highway platform, carrying data, voice, and video services. This provides road monitoring to ensure a secure, reliable, and efficient highway system.
