Smart Cities Working Group - Toronto

In 2016, the Board and the City of Toronto partnered in the creation of a Smart Cities Working Group to identify how the City can leverage information and communication technologies (ICT) and digital connectivity to enhance the quality and performance of city services, to reduce costs and resource consumption, and to engage more effectively and actively with citizens. The working group is charged with developing an Smart asset inventory and an integrated Smart City roadmap for Toronto that incorporates local innovations and international best practices.

Smart Dublin

Smart Dublin is an initiative of the four Dublin Local Authorities to engage with smart technology providers, researchers and citizens to solve challenges and improve city life. They aim to position Dublin as a world leader in the development of new urban solutions, using open data, and with the city region as a test bed.
Objectives: Provide Better Services, Promote Innovative Solutions, Improve Economic Activity, Increase Collaboration and Engagement.

Tel Aviv Innovation Residency Program

The Tel-Aviv-Yafo Municipality Innovation Program, launched in 2016, is a unique program designed to generate and support innovation amongst the 12,000 employees of the municipality and its 50 municipal companies. This new and innovative program model invites 30-35 people from different departments and municipal companies to participate in a 3-month program designed to transform ideas from different municipal areas into innovative, practical projects to be adopted into urban processes, policies and programs.

DigiTel

DigiTel is a personalized web and mobile communication platform which provides residents with individually tailored, location-specific, life situation-based information and services.
The platform facilitates a direct and holistic connection between the city and its residents, from alerting residents to neighborhood road works to sending targeted reminders for school registration and offering discounts which facilitate access to the many cultural events taking place in the city.

Beijing Smart Government: The Lucky Cloud Project

Beijing was chosen as a pilot city during the” EU-China partnership on Urbanization-2013- Smart City Sub Forum”. It aims to develop smarter services in healthcare, payments, traffic and living for instance, which should greatly improve people’s day to day lives. Beijing Smart Government cloud data center is a major demonstration project for cloud computing services under the "Lucky Cloud Project", the project provides a full series of products, including server, storage device, switch, and security device, firewall, and cloud platform.

Smart Liaoyuan: The First Smart City in Northeast China

Huawei - Safe City

Safe City makes full use of integrated data resources throughout a city with a unified management and analysis platform. Safe City enables the government to gain a comprehensive "view" of the city and to take responsive actions or make decisions. Safe City consists of network, video cloud, IVS management platform, video searching, information security management, integrated command center, multimedia trunking, and monitoring and alarm subsystems.

Huawei - Smart Government

Huawei used its expertise gained from working with government sectors to develop the e-Government platform. Based on the IP network, the e-Government supports data access and transmission at lower layers and enhances service connection and data processing at higher layers. It provides all-IP, high-bandwidth services, reduces operational risks, and enhances system reliability.

Ferrovial Services

Ferrovial Services is one of the four business divisions of Ferrovial, one of the world's leading infrastructure and service operators. Ferrovial Services performs activities along the value chain (consulting, design, operation and whole life cycle maintenance) and has operations in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Americas and the Middle East. Urban services are one of Ferrovial Services' main activities through its work with more than one thousand municipalities.

Madrid Smart Lab

The aim of this initiative is to identify and promote projects by entrepreneurs in the area of municipal services. The programme, coordinated by Ferrovial Services in cooperation with Ferrovial’s Innovation Department, chose 9 projects which aim to improve living standards and urban mobility for citizens. Once the selection process was complete, the programme offered training and advisory services to help the selected participants create a viable business model, as well as an incubation period to develop their initiatives.
