Alibaba City Brain

Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group launched its Malaysia City Brain initiative in Kuala Lumpur.
It is developed on Alibaba Cloud’s robust cloud computing infrastructure and will support Malaysia’s digital transformation with cloud technology and artificial intelligence.
The power and functionality of the City Brain will enable Malaysian urban planners and city officials to upgrade their city governance and decision-making to turn the city into an intelligent one.

Smarter DC

The Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) is leading an interagency effort to explore how “smart city” technology can be used in the District. Smart city technology leverages intelligent city infrastructure, including connected devices, sensors, and data analytics, to improve quality of life for residents, enhance economic growth, and address city challenges.

South Saad Al-Abdullah New Town in Kuwait

In designing the city of the future, why not start building one from scratch, instead of dealing with the legacy of an ‘unsmart city’. And why not copy a smart city that is already in operation successfully. That is what Kuwait thought when it hired a South Korean consortium to build Kuwaits newest smart city from scratch. A four billion dollar project. The name of the city will be South Saad Al-Abdullah and will provide accommodations for between 25,000 — 40,000 families.

STRATEGO project

The STRATEGO project aims at supporting national authorities to draft their National Heating and Cooling Plans (NHCP). The project will use the results of the studies Heat Roadmap Europe (www.euroheat.org) under which an assessment of the European potential for efficiency in heating and cooling has been carried out together with the mapping of thermal resources and demands.

A dynamic 3D digital platform that will enable the public, businesses, government and research agencies to derive insights, develop solutions and run simulations using a large-scale city model of Singapore.

OneService App

The OneService mobile app adopts an issue-based approach where reported cases will be routed to relevant agencies in a more efficient and coordinated manner. It is a convenient way for members of the public to give their feedback on municipal issues, without having to find out which agency is responsible for the issue!

Automated Meter Reading (AMR) Trial

PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, is rolling out the first phase of Smart Water Meter Programme in Singapore. This will see the installation of 300,000 smart water meters in new and existing residential, commercial and industrial premises by 2023. The Smart Water Meters are designed to monitor and collect water consumption data. This will enable PUB to provide consumers with value-added services through a mobile customer app, such as understanding their water usage, and alerting households of suspected water leaks.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) 153 White Desk

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) 153 White Desk is a municipal unit to which citizens report any of their complaints, requests and opinions via telephone, information offices and mobile app. Solutions Team checks all the applications by its public relations experts, gets in touch with relevant units or government bodies for generating solutions, and transmits the result to the applicant.

Budafok-Tétény - Faultreporting app

The purpose of Budafok-Tétény's mobile app is to engage citizens in the care of local areas and increase satisfaction. With this app, district residents can easily report bugs in the public spaces. The announcement goes straight to the mayor's office and users can track the progress of their announcements: they are automatically notified when the announcement changes. Resolved notifications can be seen by everyone.

Kispest Community Budget Program

For years, the mayor of Kispest has been asking residents to share their suggestions as part of the Community Budget Program.
There are also many proposals that do not fall within the competence of the local government. For example, proposals for public transport, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings are forwarded to the relevant authorities in the capital.
Requests for several smaller investments, such as bench placement, minor repairs, or creating flowerbeds, are automatically scheduled by competent agencies as part of their next year's tasks.
