T-City CityPass - Integrated School Information System

Students who joined the system test in the school received a so-called SchoolCard (Sulikártya) which is a plastic ID card with RFID technology. Using the card for entry and exit through the entrance of the school with swivel gates significantly reduces the number of unauthorized entry and significantly increases the safety of the students as well as the school's assets. The system continuously logs the entry and exit in which the users with appropriate privileges such as registered students and parents can query the data at any time even via internet.

T-City Mobile City

For guests visiting the city there is an attractive and comfortable application for all essential tourist information and in the life of the community the updated information can become a driving force for the local citizens. City services provided by the municipality or other institutions has an institutional list with contacts and office opening hours. The application users can report various events, anomalies (potholes, broken street lights, broken pipes, etc.) with their smartphones giving exact loaction, photo and personal contact.

T-City Szolnok

T-City is a multi-annual development and innovation program of Magyar Telekom and Szolnok City. It launched in 2009 with the aim that citizens try out and test the telecommunication and information technologies and content services. The participating residents institutions and local government organizations help with their experience and feedback to improve the services before launch. The main objective of the T-city is to show and exploit ICT opportunities for all aspects of life - health, education, public administration, tourism, culture, transport, economy.

District heating and cooling in Houthaven District

Houthaven is a 100% climate neutral district under construction. For the climate control in livings, the Houthaven chose for the combination of city heat and comfort cooling from surface water. The entire energy demand in the Houthaven is being generated sustainable. To achieve this, they build on the principle of the ‘trias energetica’: this leads to a promising package of energy saving and sustainability measures. The livings will get a sustainable casco, and for the heating the Houthaven will be connected to the city-heating network.

Helsinki Street Lab

Helsinki Street Lab is a blog about smart pilots and user interfaces linked to wayfinding, digital screens, and urban apps in Helsinki and around the world. The content is published and updated by Forum Virium Helsinki, an innovation unit within the Helsinki City organization. We play a key role in implementing Helsinki’s Smart and Open City strategy, by developing building blocks for smart and open cities of the future. The City of Helsinki and Forum Virium Helsinki have together created and piloted digital wayfinding, signage as well as interactive services for a few years now.

Lyon Smart Community

The project is based on four separate parts: the first being the construction of Hikari, a block of energy positive housing and office buildings. Secondly, there will be a deployment of a shared group of electric vehicles to be fueled primarily by energy produced from photovoltaic panels installed on the tops of certain buildings. Thirdly, the distribution of ConsoTab, a tablet allowing for the viewing of residential energy consumption, and finally the implementation of this monitoring tool which tracks energy production and consumption for the entire La Confluence neighborhood.

MOTI (Mayor's Office of Technology and Innovation – New York City)

The Mayor's Office of Technology and Innovation is led by New York City's first-ever Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Minerva Tantoco, who was appointed by Mayor de Blasio to drive citywide technology strategy. Under her leadership, the office facilitates citywide coordination and collaboration on technology issues, serves as a catalyst for and advises agencies on innovation, and interacts with the wider New York City technology ecosystem. The office's mission is to fulfill Mayor de Blasio's vision of making NYC the most innovative, tech-friendly, and equitable big city in the world.

Amsterdam Smart City (ASC) is the innovation platform of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area which is constantly challenging businesses, residents, the municipality and knowledge institutions to test innovative ideas & solutions for urban issues. This contributes to the liveability of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, promotes sustainable economic growth and helps develop new markets.
