Szabihíd

Szabihíd is a non-profit cultural event, an occasion for the pedestrian use of the Liberty Bridge. Its aim is to bring people closer to urban spaces, to their city and to the river that runs through it, and uncover the opportunities lying in our public spaces.

Kabelwerk – A modern housing project on a former industrial area

For 100 years the “Kabelwerk” (former called the ‘Kabel- und Drahtwerke AG’) was one of the districts leading companies and its largest employer. The company’s closure in December 1997 gave rise to a large-scale planning and citizens’ participation process initiated by the city of Vienna and the district Meidling. Already on the 30 May 1996 local residents were invited to participate in a workshop and invited to collaborate.

Altes Schule - living together for generations

The Alte Schule Karlshorst was purchased by the trias Foundation with the help of an endowment from SelbstBau e.G. and is leased to the cooperative for 99 years by means of a hereditary lease. The building is owned by the tenants' cooperative SelbsBau e.G. Living together and supporting each other is a basic principle for the housing project in the listed former community school Karlshorst.

Belfast Urban Childhoods Masterplan

With 35% of Belfast’s population aged 25 or under, Belfast City Council recognised the need to design for the youngest in the population and place them at the heart of city planning. With support from the Resilient Cities Network (R-Cities), and working closely with Belfast City Council, Arup developed a framework and design strategy (Belfast Urban Childhoods Masterplan) that creates a more healthy, inclusive and child-friendly city centre in Belfast. 

Green nursery in Zugló

In the spring of 2016, the 48-seat Mesevonat crèche was built in Zugló, at the busy junction of Queen Elisabeth Avenue and Öv Street, with several innovative solutions. The crèche also offers temporary childcare for parents seeking work, as well as many other special services.

Opioid Wastewater Sampling

The abuse of opioids is affecting communities throughout the american nation including Cary. The town is committed to offering solutions to of opioid misuse. The Town is planning to pilot a wastewater monitoring project that would generate opioid consumption data by measuring concentrations of opioid metabolites in sewage. The Town is working with Biobot Analytics, a company that provides opioid testing and data analytics services. Town staff will install and operate wastewater sampling devices, or robots, within the sewer system.

Tengah - the city of the future

Tengah will be Singapore’s first smart and sustainable town, with green features and smart technologies.

Giant solar-powered air conditioners, vacuum garbage collection, subterranean roads for electric vehicles, urban farms and green architecture. Put them all together and you have Tengah, Singapore’s most ambitious project yet to build the city of the future.

Library Parks

During the 1990s, Medellín was globally perceived as one of the most dangerous and violent cities in the world. Since then, the city has transformed socially, economically, and culturally. Library Parks aim to address Medellín’s inequality.  Fundamentally,  the  facilities are designed  to  get people, particularly youth,  off the streets.
