Sponge garden

The climate is changing: the rain is heavier and the dry periods between are lasting longer. How can we moderate these two extremes? A lot of rain water currently drains through sewers to prevent flooding. However, that does not always work and increases the problem of drought.

One way to deal with this; is to have our urban greenery function like a sponge. A sponge can moderate these extremes; it can absorb water quickly, hold it temporarily and gradually return the water to the subsoil.

In Southeast Asia, energy demand is growing at an average of 6% per year and forecast to grow 60% by 2040. Demand for renewable electricity is accelerating due to its low cost.

The focus of the program is on the selective collection of waste, with a special emphasis on the collection of used batteries, small accumulators and used mobile phones. Santa Factory

Water is abundant on Earth, with 71% of the planet's surface covered by oceans.Unfortunately, this water is too salty to be used for drinking, sanitation, agriculture or even industrial processes, and water scarcity is one of the most pressing problems of our times.  

DH2OME is a game-changing infrastructure designed to provide litres of fresh water every day where it is needed most. Many of the countries facing severe droughts and water scarcity are in tropical areas, most of which are developing countries where the sun shines most of the year.

Wildflowers in Budapest

The Municipality of Budapest and FŐKERT share the goal of increasing the natural habitats of flora and fauna in Budapest. In their park maintenance practices, they have already introduced several elements of nature-friendly, near-natural green space management. In the spring of 2021, they took a new step towards more ecological maintenance with a new programme: an extensive grassland management programme was introduced, which has created more than 28 hectares of insect-friendly green spaces in the capital's parks and green strips.

Via del Corso in Rome has been covered with 35,000 globes made out of luminescent, fully recycled, plastic. These elements are capable of absorbing the natural light in the daytime and release it during the night.
